Pregnancy Cavities
File under: General, Jaime
My turn to try out the e-mail posting!

I'll take this opportunity to tell you about my experience yesterday of getting my very first cavity filled. I got the cavity while I was pregnant (thanks for ruining my 26 year record, Noelle), and they decided to wait until after I had the baby to take care of it. So here we are a year later, finally getting it done.

I was not excited, to say the least. Shots and drilling in my mouth are not something I enjoy thinking about. The worst part was the shot to numb the area, but if not for that, the drilling certainly would have been the worst part. I pretended the drill was just the electric tooth polisher they use, because it sounded similar. It's mostly mental for me anyway, so that helped a lot. As did squeezing the hand of the dental assistant. She said I could! All in all it wasn't that big of a deal. My hygienist hurt me just about as bad as the shot did when she was flossing my teeth.

As I was sitting there getting all numb preparing myself for this procedure, I thought how it's kind of sad that the only time I get to "myself" anymore is when I go to the doctor or to get my hair cut, or something that I can't take Noelle to. Oh well, such is life!

My first website post via email
File under: General, Andy
That's right... Usually Jaime and I add posts to our site via an elaborate admin section that I built. But this post was added via my new "email post" method. It's more of a proof-of-concept than something that will get used often, but heck. I'm a guy, I'm a programmer, and I like building new things. So I took the time to write this extra setup just because.

Ready to Fight the Cold
File under: Noelle Jordan
Click to see a larger photo The weather has been crazy here, going back and forth from the 30's to the 70's. It's hard to figure out how to dress myself, but even more difficult to dress Noelle. Layering a baby isn't always easy to do. Today is pretty chilly and we were heading out to the store, so I bundled her up. She looked so sweet that I had to take a picture. Andy says she looks ready to fight. "You think cold weather is tough? I can take it. I'm a December baby."

Baby feets

Click to see a larger photo Noelle pulled herself up on the windowsill today behind the curtain, and I saw these cute little baby feet sticking out underneath.

everything looks better in black and white...

Click to see a larger photo Jaime took a great picture of Noelle kneeling against the plate glass window facing the street. The minute I saw this picture I knew I had to have it as a wallpaper for my computer. It was good just as it was, but I wanted to see if I could improve upon her shot. So I took the image into Photoshop and did some trickery and this is what I came up with.

Gettin in Trouble
File under: Noelle Jordan
Click to see a larger photo Now that she's crawling, Noelle has started getting herself into little predicaments. Like crawling under the side table, or pulling up and cruising around to a place she can't get out of. Or like today, when she made me feel like a bad mommy by getting her fingers caught in a drawer in her bedroom. Ouch! We're off to the store after her nap to buy some safety latches for all the drawers and doors, some outlet covers, and other safety items. We can't protect her from everything, but we might as well try the best we can!

And you thought she was always happy
File under: Noelle Jordan
Click to see a larger photo Well she's not. Sometimes she's downright whiney. We keep wanting to blame teething, but she still has no teeth to speak of! She's been "teething" on and off for the last 4 months.

She's pretty darn cute, though, even if she does have the most pathetic face ever in this picture.
